Hose selection criteria

To guide our customers through the ordering process for an assembled hose, we present in this whitepaper a typical assembly, made up of all possible components that can be used in a single length.

The selection of the hose should be made taking into account:

1º The PRESSURE of the system and any overpressure, must also be taken into account when selecting hoses and accessories. Verify adequate working conditions. This will indirectly give us possible internal (ID) and external (OD) diameters.
Taking into account the FLUIDS that will circulate through the hose and the TEMPERATURE (ambient and maximum of the material being transported) is also an important aspect when selecting a hose assembly.

2º The INSERTS required. NPT Male, Female Type M and AU Male are available (ask for other variants). Like the hose, these give us internal passage diameters, which if they are not enough, we must go to another model of hose. The resistance of the total set is given by the element with the least resistance.
Knowing which accessory to mount is very important, and it does not necessarily have to be the same at both ends.

3rd Finally, the required length completes the order.

In addition to the above, the various accessories are added, which can be essential for the safety of the operator and the durability of the hose.

Protection cover
A transparent PVC for protection or extra resistant cover with internal spiral for roughness and / or harsh environments. The protective hose cover is NOT explosion insurance, and cannot be intended to be operator protection.

Stainless Steel Clamping Ring
When using the UHP hose for cleaning heat exchangers, the catch ring will help the operator. Indicate how far from the end of the hose you need it to be located.

Hose clamp
Hose clamping is the safest way to secure high pressure hoses and prevent whiplash in the event of an expulsion, protecting operators and / or equipment. Strongly recommended for demanding applications. Traction force from 13.72 kN to 24.77 kN.

Bend restriction
Transfer Oil bend limiters are designed to protect the hose assembly from kinking and bending stresses at the hose and fitting joint, which can occur during harsh operating conditions.

ABAC offers thermoplastic hoses entirely produced in Italy by Transfer Oil SpA for various applications with medium, high and very high pressures (up to 58.000 psi). More information, here.
